Community Service

EightCAP has offices in each of our four-county region (Ionia, Montcalm, Gratiot, and Isabella). Each office is staffed Monday – Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm. Please click on the appropriate page to see office addresses.

Applications are required for emergency assistance with items such as utility bills, deliverable fuels, security deposit, and other basic needs depending on funding. Community Services also coordinates two food distribution programs. Click here for the list of distribution sites and requirements.

Community Services provide financial assistance for eligible persons. Eligibility requirements vary by program and programs change based on funding sources. If you are having difficulty meeting financial obligations for basic human needs, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Please note that certain eligibility documentation WILL be required. If you have questions about the required documents for the application, call (616) 236-1027 or email emergency@8cap.org.

EightCAP is only able to provide assistance to residents of our service area. However, if you reside in Michigan, but outside of the EightCAP service area, you can find your Community Action Agency by clicking here https://mcac.memberclicks.net/agency-locator-map. You will be taken to Agency Locator on the Michigan Community Action website.

Our Community Resources Specialist are also great resources and can connected you with resources in your community. If we are not able to fill your need directly through one of our programs, we will work to point you in the right direction.

In order to assist you in finding the resources that you need, each office is equipped with a “Community Access Station”. This station includes a computer, high speed internet access, a printer, and telephone to help you navigate websites and get the resources you need. You can use these stations for to search and obtain employment, training, child care, medical services, and any other human service.
