Community Service

EightCAP has one Community Services office in each of our four primary counties: Ionia, Montcalm, Gratiot, and Isabella. Each office is staffed on a full-time basis. Please click on the appropriate page to see operating hours and contact information for each office. Appointments are required for all assistance.

Examples of the types of needs that we may be able to assist with include:

-  Consumers Energy Care Program
-  Food (through scheduled food distribution)
-  Housing Program/Rental Assistance
-  Transportation needs (limited)
-  Utility Bills
-  Deliverable Fuels
-  Michigan Enrolls (provides education and enrollment assistance for managed
health care providers in the community).
-  The Salvation Army (available in Ionia & Montcalm Counties)
-  Supportive Services for Veteran Families (Click for Flyer)

Our Community Services Offices provide financial assistance for eligible persons.  Eligibility requirements will vary by program and all programs are based on funding availability.  We understand that these tough times are unprecedented and many individuals, even some who have never needed assistance before, are having a tough time making ends meet.  If you are having difficulty meeting financial obligations for basic human needs, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Please note that certain eligibility documentation WILL be required.  In order to make the process as efficient as possible, please contact your nearest office and we would be happy to discuss the documents you will need to provide.  Please understand that we are only able to provide assistance to residents of our service area.  However, if you reside in Michigan, but outside of EightCAP’s service area, you can find your  Community Action Agency by clicking here. You will be taken to Agency Locator on the Michigan Community Action website.

Our Community Services Assistants are also great resources that are well-connected to their communities.  If we are not able to fill your need directly through one of our programs, we may be able to point you in the right direction.  In order to assist you in finding the human resources that you require, each Community Services office is equipped with a "Community Access Station".  This station includes a computer, high speed internet access, a printer, telephone, and a staff member to help clients navigate the web or individual websites.  Clients are able to use these stations for searching and obtaining employment, training, child care, medical services, and any other human service need outside of EightCAP.
